Mizer smokers

I have read that Bob Mizer disapproved of smoking, and refused to photograph his models smoking. Perhaps he, like my parents, came to reject this particular vice later in life.

Notes on AMG’s Thousand Model Directory 10

ZJ13 is another variety catalogue, and in the directory several name changes can be seen.

Mac Badgwell is now Floyd Badgwell.

Don Brown becomes H. Brown.

Dan Hardy is shown as Steve Hardy.

Here is a complicated one: Jim McCorkle is listed as Rocky McCorkle. In the directory, Al Hemsley is also given the code ZJ 12 and a place in the ZJ13 catalogue, but there is space for him in the YJ album and catalogue, where I think he really belongs.

Andrew Edward Kozak (1924-2023)

Andy Kozak was one of the most prolific early Athletic Model Guild models, appearing in two solo album/catalogues of his own and supporting another half-dozen models in their solo or in group efforts.

On his own

With Larry Farrell

With Ben Sorensen

With Forrester Millard and Russ Budlong

With his brother Steve

With Vern Charles

This one is a puzzler, and his partner is identified variously as his brother or (often) as Howard (or Alan) Thomas. I would suggest another candidate: Bill Holland, who makes a solo appearance in a later catalogue, but appears in the first dual variety album/catalogue AMG produced.

Bill Holland and (I’m reasonably certain) Dan Hardy
