Mount Mizer revisited

The ZF variety dual album and catalogue was scheduled for release in May 1949, the earliest date I can readily access for the Athletic Model Guild’s publishing program. Thereafter, up through late 1951, one can cobble together a timeline for AMG releases in the ZA-ZZ series. 

I had thought ZP and ZQ were the earliest instances of “Mount Mizer” appearing as a modeling setting, but a review of my own photo albums sets me straight: Forrester Millard is shown in his own ZB catalogue

as is Gene Eberle in the ZD catalogue.

John Winship, whose ZH album and catalogue was to be published in July 1949, was also photographed on Mount Mizer.

Bud Counts is another AMG model who makes his first appearance in his own album. 

Leonard Chambers is an interesting case, since the first album or catalogue I can point to for him is his own, and yet a photo from a session with John Winship can be found in Chambers’s Album ZS that must have been taken while preparing Winship’s album and catalogue, published much earlier.

As I was looking for the next mages to use in my “First Impressions” series (here, most recently), I was reminded of John Winship’s assorted duals — not just with Jim McCorkle, but with Leonard Chambers and Laddie La Porte. These pairings are sometimes confused — McCorkle for La Porte — perhaps because of the tiny studio thumbnails (or the handwritten catalogue captioning).
