Photo taken at either the 1956 Mr Los Angeles or 1956 Mr California contests both of which Lyman won, along with 1956 Mr Southern California, the Triple Crown of California bodybuilding. Doug Strohl was Mr Venice Beach 1956. The Venice Beach and the Mr Venice beach contest became popular as Muscle Beach became increasingly cliquish and stratified. -Rj
