Jules Bacon / Bacanskas (1917-2007) Born in Philadelphia of Lithuanian parents. Bacon trained at Fritshe’s Gym and became Mr America 1943, he competed in bodybuilding from 1939-1953. During WW2 Bacon worked in a foundry in support of the war effort and found work as the machine shop manager at the York Barbell Company, after the war he later owned a chain of gyms. -Rj
