In the days when my bodybuilder uncle competed 1947-1957, John Grimek and Steve Reeves were legends to emulate in the gym. Though there were several contests where Grimek won over other bodybuilders with far better physiques, no doubt at the hand of biased judges. When not competing my uncle guest posed at several bodybuilding contests, a mix of classic physique poses and a gymnastic display of flips ending in the splits. He told me of a judge ogling him in London while guest posing at the Mr Universe contest in the 1950’s.-Rj
