With that leather jacket and rolled up cuffs on his blue jeans, Fife must have been a biker or leather man who found himself on Mizer’s front doorstep at 11th Street. One can picture Fife roaming the streets of LA on his Harley or hanging out at a discrete leather bar downtown or in West Hollywood. They had them then in the 40’s and 50’s, one was in a downtown back alley that was only known by word of mouth. -Rj
The “street clothes” photos are among my favorites from AMG and the other physique studios — they suggest a lot about post-war, mid-century America, complicating the gym-built perfection that emerges when they come off!
