Well built like the great Paul Robeson ready to appear in Showboat. Franklin Jones won the title Most Muscular at the AAU Mr Los Angeles contest in 1960, yet placed him second for the title of Mr Los Angeles. The AAU , with few exceptions, had a habit of denying deserving black men from winning titles. This pattern of discrimination was worse in the South and Midwest. Finally by 1970, with competition from the IFBB, the AAU came around with Mr America winner Chris Dickerson. -Rj
