Must be at the Stage Door Canteen in NYC established by the USO’ s theater wing and Broadway personalities to entertain the troops at the basement club in the 44th Street Theater. Bette Davis had been a featured entertainer and took the idea back to Hollywood where she and John Garfield established the Hollywood Canteen. -Rj
