Reminds me of a handsome youth who zipped around DC on a motor scooter back in the late 50’s to mid 60’s. I worked my first job as a clerk in the mens department at the Woodward & Lothrop dept store in DC. The youth came from one of DC’s discreet and wealthy power broker families and the youth would often shop at our store and I would help him select clothing from our Quadrangle and Washingtonian collections of fine clothing. A lady who worked in the Men’s Accessories department told me he was the black sheep of his family and was rumored to avail himself sexually to other men. Last we heard he was sent off to California around 1964 by his family to keep his activities from being found out by their elite social circle. A common practice with the elite, wealthy families on the East Coast, send the black sheep and trouble makers in the family off to California. Rex in DC
