Wonder if Juleff or Oettinger ever belonged to one of the photo clubs in Detroit. They would have had to learn and hone their photography skills somewhere and a photo club have been the place. -Rj
There seems also to have been an apprenticeship track for the trade — Dorothea Lange worked for Mrs. Spencer-Beatty, Ruth Harriet Louise is supposed to have worked for Nickolas Muray, and of course Mizer worked for Kovert and with Denfield, etc.
