Gettin’ rays on the beach. Those smaller bungalows on the beach to the left were inexpensive back then, they would cost a fortune today. Had relatives that would take the Pacific Electric inter-urban redcars from Pasadena to the downtown Los Angeles terminal of Pacific Electric at Main and Olive (Pas to LA 11 miles 14 stations, service ended 1951)and then transfer west to Santa Monica to spend the day at the beach. (LA to SM 17 miles w/15 stations, this service ended in 1953.) The affordable glory days of Southern California and Pacific Electric are long gone. -Rj
