The pool where one could relax in the winter sun, enjoying cake and tea at noon and after dinner drinks at night. By the time Ww2 came along the Bennett’s who owned Deep Well Ranch played host to US servicemen stationed at what would later become Palm Springs Airport. In Palm Springs pools are a necessity as the desert heat can reach between 110-120 degrees ! Palm Springs and its hotels, motels and guest ranches are best enjoyed from late fall thru spring. -Rj
