Mick Sloane by John S. Barrington
John S. Barrington (sometimes John Paignton, 1920-1991) has a bad reputation with regard to his studio practices, and indeed many of his prints look like they went through a war. This one, though, is beautifully shot and produced — a pleasure to behold in person.

ReplyDeleteHey, Photoplay, I have a copy of this image which is less cropped, showing studio lighting. Do you have this uncropped version? If not, I'd be happy to send it to you (of course I'd need some email address).
ReplyDeleteNice to meet you, Brian, and thanks! I’ve added my email info on the profile page.
